A local firm that speaks your language

Most business owners didn't start out to spend their evenings on spreadsheets and tax forms. That's where we come in.

We've been helping businesses with their accounts for 20 years. In that time we've got to know HMRC's rules inside out, and we use that knowledge for one thing: making sure you pay what you owe and not a penny more. We look for savings in every part of your finances, from how you pay yourself to what you can claim.

We're independent and based in Manchester, so you deal with real people who know the area. We keep things clear, too. No jargon, no confusing letters, just straight answers to your questions.

We're a small team, and you'll get to know us:

Questions businesses often ask us

Is the first chat really free?

Yes. Your first conversation with us costs nothing and there's no obligation. It's a chance to tell us about your business, ask questions and see whether we're the right fit.

How do your fees work?

We charge fixed fees, and we also offer monthly packages if you'd rather spread the cost across the year. Either way, you'll know what you're paying before any work starts.

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes, changing accountant is common and fairly simple. Once you've decided to move, your new accountant normally contacts the old one to ask for the information they need, so you don't have to chase it yourself. We'll talk you through it on our first chat.

Do I need to register for VAT?

You must register once your VAT taxable turnover goes over the threshold set by HMRC, and some businesses choose to register before then. Whether it makes sense for you depends on who your customers are and what you buy, so it's worth talking through before you decide.

What's the difference between a limited company and a limited liability partnership?

Both protect the owners' personal assets, but they're run and taxed differently. A limited company pays corporation tax on its profits and is owned by shareholders. In a limited liability partnership the members are taxed individually on their share of the profits through self assessment. Each has its own accounts to file, and we prepare both.

Can you help me pay less tax?

We know HMRC's rules well and look across every part of your finances for legitimate savings, from expenses and allowances to how you take money out of your business. Our aim is that you pay exactly what you owe and nothing more.
